Fears
of China's Use of Copper for Loans May Be Overblown
--------------
Prices
for the industrial metal dropped to a 3 1/2 -year low in March, after China's
first corporate default in nearly two decades sparked fears that the government
was cracking down on quasi-legal deals that occur on the periphery of its
banking system.Investors' worries about the unwinding of China's copper-fueled
financing deals were probably overblown, some market watchers are
saying.
